Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden

The purpose of this organization shall be to preserve, develop, expand, and maintain the historic Key West Botanical Garden as an arboretum, botanical garden, wildlife refuge, and education cener. The garden shall showcase flora that are native to South Florida, Cuba, and the Caribbean and shall emphasize cultivation of threatened and endangerd species of the Florida Keys. This orgainzation will encourage study of this collection and promote the benefits of native vegetation worldwide. The society will also provide education programs for all age groups and various levels of interest geared to Keys residents, tourists, plant expers, and others. The only frost-free tropical forest in the continental United States that is an outdoor setting presenting native, threatened, and endangered plants and wildlife through self-guided tours.

Reef Relief® is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to Improve and Protect our Coral Reef Ecosystem.

Hours: Reef Relief\'s Headquarters and Environmental Center is open Monday - Friday 10am-4pm. The center introduces visitors to the coral reef ecosystem, its threats and what can be done to protect our coastal resources. The center features a diorama of a healthy and damaged coral reef and identifies conditions needed for healthy coral growth as well as major threats to the coral reef ecosystem as a whole. An exhibit shows sea turtle hatchlings leaving their nest for the sea. The Google Earth exhibit enables the viewer to visit coral reefs around the world. A theater shows films related coastal resource issues. The center and Reef Relief store is located at 631 Greene Street. Free entry. Donations welcomed.
